Joe Greer Takes Us Behind The Scenes With Bandit Running

I’ve been following photographer, Joe Greer for a little while now. His down-to-earth nature and beautifully candid images make him a super aspirational Creative. Throw in his obsession with running and you’ve got a perfect storm of specialisms.

I first came across his work through another photographer and running YouTuber, Eric Floberg, also known as Floberg Runs. Together they are collaborating on a documentary that follows Greer’s journey towards a marathon this year.

Joe himself is a renowned photographer known for capturing the raw essence of the human spirit. With a keen eye for detail and an appreciation of moments in time, his work is the epitome of beauty and diversity in the world. So, when a month ago, he dropped a detailed behind the scenes video on his YouTube channel, opening the door to his creative process whilst working for the up and coming brand, Bandit Running, I was ready for it!

Bandit Running are one of a handful of brands making strides in an industry previously dominated by the behemoths of the industry in Nike and Adidas, almost to a boring extent. But in recent times, the likes of Bandit, On, Tracksmith, Hoka et al have saved us from a sea of sameness.

Bandit was founded by members of the NYC running community in October 2020 and claims they will “always be community-first. As a result, Bandit is inherently inclusive of all runners regardless of pace or experience.”

It’s worth noting that Greer is a decent runner himself and is in fact signed with Bandit Running. This is the second campaign he’s done with them and this time around caught the whole 72 hour shoot on film, mostly medium format. His photos lean on more natural scenes and autumnal cues with a particular focus on body shapes. Some more staged images are captured but together make for a beautiful collection.

You can follow Joe on Instagram along with his street photography page, and find the clothing he captured on the Bandit store.
