Nike Releases First Maternity Collection With Nike (M)

Today Nike announced the release of their first maternity collection, Nike (M) which is set to launch on September 17th. The range will support mothers through all stages of pregnancy and beyond.

Nike’s philosophy has been that anyone with a body is an athlete, mothers being the ultimate endurance athletes. In fact, Nike said for the many women who have two or three children (on average), the journey navigating motherhood from pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and postpartum can be up to 10 years.

The new range is the result of pregnancy data with analytics from over 150,000 scans comparing non-pregnant women against those of pregnant women, to get a comfortable, supportive fit. Nike also enlisted the help of top athletes Alex Morgan, Perri Edwards and Michelle Wie West to help shape their products which include a bra, pullover, tank and tights.

Each garment is thoughtfully designed to be adaptable to the individual and their situation. For example, the bra allows for easy breastfeeding access, the leggings give the option of having the tummy showing or covered and the shirt has extra material for to accommodate the bump.
