A Typeface Designed With Running Data

Studio DBD are a design & branding agency based in Manchester, led by Dave Sedgwick. Last week they revealed a beautiful typeface designed for Lost Running Club.

The typeface used plotted runs on Google Maps starting directly from @oldbanknoma, where the running club was formed, to create the raw numbers. These runs were then used to create the numbers which will feature on race bibs on race day.

Lost Running Club are a collective of runners, designers, artists and urbanists from Manchester whose aim is bringing people together through creativity and running in a time when mass participation in anything is particularly difficult. In December they release just 300 places in the club keeping it exclusive and intimate.

Their essence is beautifully captured in the typeface which explores getting lost, enjoying the journey, and nods to their creative routes.
